Świnoujście is a spa town and you can tell every day: the town is flat, the promenade long and level, with benches and cafés along the way. Sanatoriums and hotels with treatments work all year round, so coming outside the summer holidays makes sense here, and not only for the peace and quiet.
Moving at your own pace
- Walks along the promenade, in the morning or towards evening. If you like, you can follow it all the way to Germany: described in our Along the promenade to Ahlbeck walk. You can come back on the UBB train.
- Cycling on flat, separate paths, also on the German side of Usedom. We describe the routes in our Cycling section.
- The Park Zdrojowy, shaded by old trees, between the centre and the beach.
- The Świna quay, with benches and views of ships and ferries.
Spa and wellness
- The graduation towers by the western part of the promenade: free, open from spring to autumn.
- Treatments in sanatoriums and hotels in the seaside district, also for private stays, not only with a referral.
- Pools and saunas: at the aquapark and in hotels with spas.
In the evening: dinner and dancing
- Dance evenings at the Scaliano café and evenings with music at Tawerna Przy Morzu. We describe all the places in our guide Where to dance.
- Dinner at a restaurant by the promenade or in the centre: our picks are in the Where to eat section.
- Bowling and beer brewed on site at the Miedziowy44 brewery.
History and views
- The Museum of Sea Fishing in the historic town hall.
- A boat trip around the port or, in season, to the German resorts.
- 308 steps lead up the lighthouse. If that is too many, a flat walk along the breakwater to Stawa Młyny also gives you views of the mouth of the Świna and the port.
When to come
Spring and early autumn are when it is warm and quiet on the promenade. Winter has its fans too: an empty beach, sanatoriums and spas are open, and in the evening you can go dancing. More in our guide Świnoujście in winter and off-season.
We have gathered information on the town’s accessibility (beach paths, the ferry, transport) in our guide Accessibility. How to get around without a car is covered in our guide Without a car.
