Western stretch

Beach towards the border

The western stretch of the beach, which runs straight on into the beaches of German Ahlbeck. A good choice if you want to escape the biggest crowds.

  • Evening, with the sun setting over Usedom
  • For those looking for a quieter spot, and for walkers
The beach at sunset

Why this stretch

The beach in Świnoujście does not stop at the border: it flows seamlessly into the beaches of Ahlbeck and continues along the whole German part of Usedom. On the western stretch, towards the border, it is usually less crowded than at the central entrances, and in summer this is exactly where the sun sets over the sea and the coast of Usedom.

What is nearby

  • The graduation towers at the western end of the promenade.
  • The border sign on the promenade and beyond it German Ahlbeck with its pier.

Combine a beach day with an evening walk: along the shore to the border and back along the promenade. We describe the route in the walk Along the shore to the sunset.
