Seaside district

Beach by the promenade

Świnoujście's main beach along the seaside district: very wide, with fine sand and a promenade full of cafés and restaurants just behind the dunes.

  • Morning (more space) and evening (sunset)
  • Families with children and beachgoers who like having everything at hand
Wide sandy beach in Świnoujście

The widest beach in Poland

Świnoujście’s beach is considered the widest in Poland: in places it is about 200 metres wide. The sand is pale and fine and the water gets deeper gently, which makes it a good spot for families with children.

Behind the belt of dunes runs the promenade with restaurants, cafés, ice cream parlours and hotels. In season there is sunbed hire on the beach, and lifeguards work at the designated bathing areas.

Who it suits

  • Families who want a toilet in a nearby café, food and ice cream close by.
  • People who do not want to walk far: from the seaside district you are on the sand in a few minutes.
  • Anyone who enjoys an evening walk along the shore after a day on the beach.

Practical tips

  • The beach is very wide, so it is a longer walk from the promenade to the water than at other resorts. With small children and gear, bring a beach trolley or a shoulder bag rather than a wheeled suitcase.
  • Guarded bathing areas are designated every season. Look for the signs at the entrances and the flags: white means swimming is allowed, red means it is prohibited.
  • The rules for dogs are posted on boards at the entrances.
