Wide sandy beach in Świnoujście Beach

Beach by the promenade

Świnoujście's main beach along the seaside district: very wide, with fine sand and a promenade full of cafés and restaurants just behind the dunes.

Beach by the breakwater and Stawa Młyny

The eastern end of the beach, right at the mouth of the Świna. From here you can watch Stawa Młyny, the port entrance and the ferries sailing to Sweden.

The beach at sunset Beach

Beach towards the border

The western stretch of the beach, which runs straight on into the beaches of German Ahlbeck. A good choice if you want to escape the biggest crowds.

Dunes with grass and a wooden fence Beach

Warszów wild beach

A beach on the other side of the Świna, beyond the lighthouse. Dunes, forest and much more space than by the promenade.

What to know before you head to the beach

  • Width. The beach in Świnoujście is considered the widest in Poland: in places it is about 200 metres wide. So it is a longer walk from the promenade to the water than at other resorts, which is worth bearing in mind with children and beach gear.
  • Guarded bathing areas. In the summer season the town sets up guarded bathing areas with lifeguards. Their locations and hours change every year, so look out for the signs at the beach entrances and the town's announcements.
  • Flags. A white flag means swimming is allowed, a red one that swimming is prohibited. Outside the lifeguards' hours you swim at your own risk.
  • Dogs. The rules for dogs on the beach and any time restrictions are posted on boards at the entrances. Check the current regulations before going out with your dog.
  • Access. On the left bank, many entrances lead from the promenade in the seaside district down to the beach. You reach Warszów beach after crossing the Świna by ferry.

The beach is wide and in summer the sand gets very hot. Take flip-flops, water and a hat, especially if you are going with children for a longer time.
