Świnoujście is one of the best towns on the Baltic for a car-free holiday. The left bank, with the beach, the promenade and the centre, is flat and compact, and you cross to the other side of the river on a free ferry.
Getting here
- By PKP train to Świnoujście station in Warszów, then on the Bielik ferry to the left bank (free on foot) or by bus.
- By UBB train from Germany to Świnoujście Centrum station on the left bank.
Getting around
- On foot: from the seaside district to the centre through Park Zdrojowy in about 20 minutes, to the beach in a few minutes.
- By ferry: to Warszów, the lighthouse and the wild beach.
- By bike: along the promenade to Germany, and by ferry to Wolin. There are bike rental shops in town.
- By bus: to outlying districts and from the station with luggage.
Car-free day trips
- Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, Bansin: on foot or by bike along the promenade, back on the UBB train.
- Międzyzdroje: by train from the station in Warszów or by bike on the Velo Baltica.
- Peenemünde: by UBB train, changing in Zinnowitz.
