For rainy days

What to do in Świnoujście when it rains

A rainy day by the sea does not have to be wasted. Museums, forts, an aquapark and cafés where time flies by.

People with umbrellas by Stawa Młyny on a rainy day

On the Baltic the weather can change within an hour, so it pays to have a plan B. In Świnoujście most “rainy-day” attractions are close together, and a cloudy day is also a good moment for places that are crowded in the heat.

Indoors

  • Baltic Park Molo Aquapark: pools, slides and saunas for a few hours.
  • The Museum of Sea Fishing in the old town hall: Baltic wildlife, amber, ship models.
  • Fort Gerharda with the Coastal Defence Museum: plenty of exhibits in the casemates.
  • Fort Anioła with exhibitions and a café in the former fireplace hall.
  • The West Fort with underground passages.

When the rain stops

Rain by the sea often passes quickly. After a shower the beach is empty, the air smells of iodine, and a rainbow or a spectacular sky appears over the sea. A good moment for a walk along the breakwater to Stawa Młyny or through Park Zdrojowy, where the trees shelter you from the next shower.

On rainy holiday days the aquapark and museums are busiest around midday. If you can, go in the morning and pick a restaurant at lunchtime.
