About the route

The longer version of the walk to Germany. You pass Ahlbeck and keep going along the beachfront promenade to Heringsdorf. Along the way stand dozens of restored spa villas from around 1900, which give the imperial spas their character. The route ends at Heringsdorf Pier: at 508 metres it is the longest in Germany.

How to get back

The most comfortable way is the UBB (Usedomer Bäderbahn) train, which links the German resorts with Świnoujście Centrum station. You can also walk back the same way, but that adds up to more than 17 km.

Practical tips

  • In Germany you pay in euros.
  • Cycling is not allowed on the promenade in Ahlbeck, but on foot you can walk the whole way along the promenade.
  • There are plenty of restaurants and cafés by Heringsdorf Pier, so it is easy to stop for lunch.
