The Bielik III ferry on the Świna

The Bielik ferry: the Warszów crossing

The municipal Bielik ferries run between the left bank (the centre) and the right bank (Warszów). For pedestrians and cyclists the crossing is free, and it is the main way to reach Warszów without a car: for the railway station, the lighthouse, Fort Gerharda and the wild beach.

  • On the left bank the landing is by the quay in the centre, a few minutes from the Museum of Sea Fishing.
  • On the right bank you arrive in Warszów, close to the railway station.
  • The crossing takes a few minutes. It is also the cheapest way to see the port from the water.

How often they run

The ferries run all year round, day and night. The timetable changes with the season and time of day: in summer, at the height of the season, two ferries usually run, leaving each bank about every half hour, less often at night. From autumn to spring some crossings are replaced by the P1 bus (see below).

The current ferry timetable is published by the Świnoujście roads and shipping authority (ZDiMiŻ) at zdmiz.swi.pl. We do not copy the times, because they change several times a year. Check them before you set off, especially in the evening.

Autumn to spring: the P1 bus

From autumn to spring the town replaces some Warszów crossings with the P1 bus, which runs through the tunnel between the landings. The Bielik ferries keep running, and the bus timetable is matched to train arrivals and departures. During this period bikes are carried through the tunnel by a special vehicle with a trailer. This is how the crossing is organised in winter 2026/2027 (from 17 October to 18 April). In later years, check whether the rules have changed.

What about cars?

Since the tunnel under the Świna opened in 2023, visitors’ cars cross between the banks through the tunnel. The former “Centrum” crossing (the Karsibór ferries) closed at that time.
