Seasons

When to visit Świnoujście

July and August are the height of the season; May, June and September mean peace and long days; and in autumn and winter the town carries on, just more quietly. How to choose your dates.

July and August: the height of the season

The warmest weather, the most attractions and events, lifeguards on the beach and the longest days. But also the most people, queues at popular restaurants and the highest accommodation prices. If you are coming at this time, book your accommodation well in advance.

May, June and September: our choice

The days are long, there is plenty of room on the beach, and the promenade and attractions are open. The water is cooler than in August, but for walks, cycling and day trips it is the best time of year. In September the sea is usually still warm from the summer.

Autumn, winter and early spring: peace and quiet

Świnoujście is open all year round. Hotels, sanatoriums, restaurants, cafés, the aquapark and museums are open off-season too, the ferries run day and night, and the promenade is lit. The beach is empty then, swans swim by the breakwater, and spa guests and visitors from Germany stroll along the promenade.

Off-season you need to allow for shorter days (in December the sun sets before 4 pm) and shorter opening hours at some attractions. It is mainly seasonal beach businesses such as deckchair hire and the graduation towers that take a break. We have gathered ideas for this time of year in our guide Świnoujście in winter and off-season.

We show the current weather, sea temperature and sunset time on the home page.
